Approach

Our approach to building websites is built on proven processes to ensure you get what you wanted - indeed, we hope more than you imagined possible. We break the process into 4 main steps - we call them the 4 D's: Discover, Design, Develop, Deliver:

Discover

  1. Discuss with you
  2. Discover your needs and objectives
  3. Site Analysis (content & traffic)
  4. Competition & Market Analysis
  5. Provide costing estimate
  6. Project agreement
Discovery is probably the most important step of the process. Firstly we determine if we can help you achieve what you want and then we get together (preferably face-to-face) to determine what your objectives are for the project. Your objectives are critical to the success of the project as they become the cornerstones of the project and influence all our decisions thereafter. Next analyse the market and perhaps your existing website to determine what is working well and what is not. Then we provide a rough costing estimate based on the brief and objectives you provided.

Design

  1. Functionality list
  2. Sketch-board page thumbnails
  3. Sitemap
  4. Wireframes
  5. Design concepts
  6. Design sign-off
The Design phase is probably the most fun. Here let our creative sense go wild to find a solution that surprises and delights. In concert with you we come up with list of functions that your website/application will perform based on the project objectives. Then with this in mind we begin sketching key pages of the website/application (preferably in concert with you). These are then developed in a site-map and wireframes of each page along with a graphical design concept to give you a clear picture of how the website/application will turn out like. Based on this we go through a feedback-change iteration process with you until you're happy and you sign-off on the designs.

Develop

  1. Prototype creation
  2. Content/Functionality sign-off
  3. Site Development
  4. Test environment creation
  5. Bug tracker setup
  6. Quality Testing
  7. Client Testing
  8. Final Sign-off
Development then kicks off and website/application really begins to take shape. We start with a static 'proto-site' that lets you actually use and interact with the website/application. This will include key content and functionality. Again we go through a feedback-change iteration process with you until you're happy with it. Then we setup a website to begin developing the site and also create bug trackers so our team can keep abreast of any bugs that may arise. We then take the website/application through a testing phase until it is ready for you to begin bashing around. Once we have finalised any changes and ironed out any kinks we're ready for final sign-off.

Deliver

  1. Site Launch
  2. Site assets delivery
  3. User guide documentation
  4. Maintenance Plan
  5. Future improvements Plan
Delivery then follows where open the gates, launch the website and pop the champagne! Next we bundle up all the assets used in the building of the website (including code, images etc), along with documentation (if it is an application). We author a maintenance plan for you going forward, and propose any future improvements that we think might be relevent. Then you site back and marvel at your new toy!
